10/02/2009: "My eyeballs work again!"
So, the eyeball-numbing work is over, and I can actually stand to sit at the computer for more than 5 minutes. Not that much has happened, but I can talk a bit more about some of what happened before.
Last weekend there was actually some snow to speak of.
Granted, it melted a couple hours later, but it was still snow to speak of. Looks like we might get some more of the stuff next week, if not this weekend. Of course, the forecast currently has the stuff mixed in with rain, so this should be interesting.
In my down time (before I burned out my eyeballs) I've been playing around a little bit with embroidery - got inspired by Mom when I was home, especially since its a craft I haven't done much with. And since its relatively easy to be a bit more creative with it; I just drew with a pencil on a piece of fabric and started going at it!
I guess you could call the method "doodle embroidery" (got the idea from a book with similar name, though I didn't actually buy the book - I might though, just to get more ideas). Like I said, I just drew with a pencil on the fabric (making sure that the pencil will easily wash out) and have been playing with it. You might be able to call it kindof candlewicking-ish? I'm just taking a couple of stitches, and making it up as I go along.
I'm thinking of taking some embroidered blocks and turning them into a quilt or some such. Any other ideas?
