05/25/2010: "And class begins"
Yesterday was our first day of actual class, which was reviewing some things that we should hypothetically already know, and just need a refresher on. I was pretty OK, but half the class was completely lost.
It doesn't help that this particular thing was generally considered the hardest thing to learn when I first was trained: Subnetting. Basically, breaking down an address space into more useable chunks. It involves actual math.
Today should be continuing the review, and then we should start learning some new stuff on networking. I'm looking forward to it.
This morning we were supposed to take a PT test, but just as we were about to start it started pouring, so we get to take it tomorrow. Which doesn't hurt my feelings any seeing as we were supposed to do a unit run of indeterminate length. I don't like unit runs.
